So how do you all feel about it in ENM stories in general? Do you like it, hate it, maybe it doesn't do anything for you?

I'm a believer that the right writer can make anything erotic. That being said, "butt stuff" in general seems tricky to me.

Everybody has a butt so the shame factor isn't nearly as strong for the average person -- a "routine" pantsing won't reveal things from the back that people are taught to hide (unlike a person's front). At least, not until their cheeks get spread and that generally requires some form of bending over, squatting, or hands being involved.

Apart from a scenario where some general horseplay takes place involving the brief insertion of just a fingertip (incidentally, I've always assumed this to be a reasonable description of the made-up "dreaded rear admiral" prank from the Simpsons) any deeper penetration in most stories is going to necessitate a source of lubrication and if it involves a dildo (strap-on or no) that has to be available also. That to me means premeditation or planning and also probably something to clean up with (at least for the perpetrator). That does narrow down the settings a bit -- you won't have this happen spontaneously at the pool or in the woods.

Then there's the humiliation angle. Certainly there's a lot of opportunity here from the simple fact that the recipient has "taken it up the butt" even before getting into any form of sexual response that may come of it. I suppose you could have a group of girls coerce a boy to someone's house for some form of retribution, or maybe a "teaching the birds and bees" scenario that would include demonstration of same-sex activity. Obviously I'm seeing this mainly through an ENM lens, without a prostate to stimulate and without the "gay" stigma I see fewer angles for ENF storylines that would focus primarily on anal (as opposed to being incidental).

And maybe this is just me, but I see pegging gear and proper lube as being more of a college/adult age thing. I can see teen girls maybe discovering a dildo from mom's night stand or an older sister, but harnesses and stuff feels too sophisticated for that age group.

I respect everyone's taste, but if I may be honest, I personally don't like anal stuff being done to a guy in general. If a story contains something like that, I skim the relevant part.

I think pegging in an ENM story would be very tricky to write. It seems a bit aggressive or a little too extreme for some reason to me, obviously this is just my opinion though. I wouldn't completely rule it out as something that could work though, I just think it would be difficult.

I've definitely seen ENM stories where a small but powerful vibrator gets inserted into the male though, I think that works well. It's rare but I have seen it and I think that goes along well with the embarrassment factor. Especially if they have it inserted and have to pretend there's nothing going on while the girl is controlling it with a remote.

I love a strong humiliation story, but I tend to draw the line when it comes to penetration. I'm not a prude, but—and no judgment here, just personal preference—it's a bit of a turnoff for me if it leads to forced penetration.

I have to say, though, that I do like Trundle's reference to a small vibrator inserted—into a male or female, either is okay with me—being controlled by someone else via remote. I'm thinking a crowded cocktail party, and the controller hits the remote while she and her friends watch their subject with sadistic glee while the victim tries to stay under control. Of course, the remote has the capability of increasing the "pleasure" at the operator's inclination.
