Ironic.

Dude, this isn't exactly a safe space for your particular views in case you were unaware. Most of this site is either British, under 40, or female. Many of the stories here are pro LGBT, especially that L part. We're not the target demographic for MAGA.

I made a joke about your protest of the vote reminding me of the MAGA movement since they are pretty famous for that by now (Trump and Lake especially). It was a joke though. Most sensible people would get that. We're not doing a whole thing where we're debating politics here lol.

Lmao we can’t even escape politics on a porn site about stripping girls naked. Smh. Either way the polls are usually skewed anyways because people don’t really read the stories, they just vote for the favorite name or vote for the one they read, but that’s nothing we can really control. People are going to vote however they want whether it be fairly or not. It shouldn’t really be that serious anyways. If your ego is shattered by losing in a poll or by the poll host winning, then that’s an entirely different issue.

The honest truth is site activity varies heavily and you can’t just force people to vote or care about a contest. Even when I tried to avoid biased voting during the Summer Slam it didn’t really work because the results ended up skewing anyways.

I’ve come to just accept that the polls will always be biased and even if you have a line of judges it’s still going to be biased. So you either choose to have biased voting or you choose to have biased choosing either way you can’t really win.

And I’m sure if people got rid of the polls there would be complaints about favoritism towards fetishes, users, etc. even if the host truly believed that who they chose was the best one.

At the risk of sounding vain, I'm really glad I started the trend for voting on ENF contests a few years ago--My memory is a little hazy, so I'm not sure if I was the first first, but it's gradually become the most standard practice on here since then. Humilatron's speculation is actually more than speculation; it's history. I distinctly remember a judge or two a while back specifically dismissing stories because they didn't like certain niche/fetish elements involved. Like, that bias was TYPED OUT as part of their reasoning for who won. Never sat well with me.

It's why I always make polls. If I was the only judge, I would instantly crown the most well written story the winner, because I'm particularly biased towards stories that are really well drafted, edited, formatted, etc. But the beauty of forums like this is that all kinds of styles and skill levels are showcased on here, and sometimes a less than eloquent story can be AMAZING in a bunch of other ways.

Not sure if I actually have a point, or if I'm just stream of conscious responding to this thread. Long story short, I much prefer polls, even if they end up a little skewed. At least that way, there's some accountability for the general favorite, rather than it just being a single person's bias.

Yeah I remember the ASN board used to use secret judges for their contests and that led to complaints. They just stopped doing contests at all after a while.

I like using polls to decide winners, and I've yet to see anybody ever win one who didn't deserve consideration for first place at the minimum. The only poll that ever truly surprised me was my TG2 awards poll where somehow Waitress simultaneously won favorite entrant and favorite elimination, implying that the fans both loved her winning and loved watching her lose.

I don't think there's a real bias or slant in these votes usually. Of the last 3 contests we've had I won 2 of them, but then I also got destroyed by Nikolai in LL's Summer Contest. For the ROA contest the top 4 besides me were all relative unknowns writing their first or second story on here. There didn't even seem to be a correlation between story length and votes in any viable way, nor was there a pattern about release dates. The top stories ranged from lighthearted to creepy to slapstick comedy. Honestly the main thing that the top stories this time had in common was a focus on sneakiness and subterfuge used towards voyeurism.

The thing I still find confusing is how low our vote totals are usually. We have a ton of members, including dozens of semi-active members. It's weird to me that we can go a whole week and only pull off 23 votes even without this poll requiring a forum account (I had no choice with 13 entries).

Deleted, sorry everyone, I've been through a month-long medical ordeal, but I'm back now.

Something I would have deleted instantly if I were around, but unfortunately my board had to suffer a while on my account.

I'd hardly call it suffering, don't worry. Like I joked to BP earlier, nobody even threatened my life this time (which is why I had to stop using local Facebook groups).

Sounds like your November has been even suckier than mine though, so hopefully you've recovered well.

Fuck man take a chill pill.

Viredae, I hope your feeling better! As someone who's spent months in and out of hospitals, I know how tiring it is.

Wow I hate to take sides but, lets see one person creates and posts stories that I really enjoy very much and would hate to see become discouraged from producing more awesome content, and another is self described as trolling for whatever pleasure someone gets from being an unpleasant MAGA type......I just feel compelled to throw my support to the one whose work I enjoy very much.....as opposed to the troll who I honestly can't remember posting anything positve on this board.

Crazy, it’s like nobody enjoys seeker22’s opinions. But that must mean that we’re all conspiring against him . . .
