Maybe the boy is forced to join the girls netball team at school, why would he be forced to do that? What embarrassments could await him doing that? The girls with their hands on his shoulders look in charge don't they? What do they think of it all? Did they set him up?

I read that during the filming of the movie, Jeremy Sumpter the actor grew six inches, and they had to keep remaking his costume.
It doesn't say whether it was his height or something else that grew that much when he was thirteen years old.
