Winter Story Contest!

Hey everyone!
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving, and are looking forward to the upcoming winter holidays as much as I am.
In anticipation of the coming season, I thought I'd host another story contest. This time on the new board - thanks, Viredae!
Similar to my summer contest, I'll keep the parameters vague. While I appreciate some of the creative prompts in other contests, I feel like this season is way too broad to try to narrow it down into separate topics.
As long as it's winter related, your story is welcome to be submitted. Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, etc. Relatives, friends, rivals, classmates, or any combination of the above or others are all fine. Hell, if there's just snow involved and nothing else, that's still winter.
Again, in the interest of getting more stories up on the board, I'll post one by the deadline as well. Lord knows I'm overdue for writing another story on here. This time, however, I'll keep mine separate from the contest, as I still feel guilty for winning my own contest last time :/
Deadline is January 1st, 2020. After that, I'll post another survey so we can all vote on our favorite stories to determine the winner. Please start your own thread for each story, and make sure to indicate that it's for the contest - either in the title, or in the thread some time before the story begins.
I look forward to reading all of your stories soon, and look forward to sharing whatever story I come up with as well.
Happy holidays!
Much love,
Lady Lucia
