It would be interesting to learn if becoming a nudist makes Julia less defensive. Julia's ego defenses make the Maginot Line and the Berlin Wall look undefended. The spoilers didn't say, and perhaps the author doesn't know either, but something caused Julia to erect an extensive defensive belt of sarcasm and other defenses (baggy clothes, engaging in athletics, really craving full-contact wrestling).

Whatever happened, it affected the other three children as well. Sydney expressed it as being Miss Perfection and then doing whatever it took to get on the cheer squad. Trent was introverted to the point of being a turtle--or did he live under a rock? Then there is Harvey Henry Sweeney.

Sydney's family nudism plan might just have a chance to correct all of that.
