I remember the olden days of hacks and viruses crashing computers left and right from 1995-2005ish. It was the damn wild west!DrWhoFanJ wrote: Tue Nov 08, 2022 6:34 pm ADDENDUM (metatextual humour)
So powerful was the Orange Ring of Change of the Raiment of Asmodeus that it was even capable of hacking the computer of one “Executionus” and forcing it to crash and lose a significant chunk of its data. This in turn prompted an unscheduled delay to the end of the competition of which this story is a part, and enabled the addition of this very addendum to the aforementioned story.

My current issue is hardware failure (motherboard) even though the computer in question is only about 4 years old. I can't figure out what is taking this dude so long to fix/replace it though. I miss my old repair guy from 20 years ago, but he retired. And don't even get me started on the malformed brainstems of the irredeemable fuckwads at Staples, so we're not going to waste the time and cash going to a box store for repairs ever again. Ever!
