You did indeed read that correctly. It’s "public" knowledge to everyone on set given the identity of said boyfriend, but not (yet? ) to viewers at home.

CHAPTER 14: THE TRUCE & THE BACKFIRE

The wheels spun yet again, landing this time on Wardell (in just his shoes and socks) and Truls (in just his barely-covering-anything G-string). With neither boy’s genitals being visible by the viewers at home (owing to the show’s logo being used as a Gag Censor obscuring the relevant areas), but still very much visible by everyone on-set, they both were stuck in a position where neither one really wanted to be holding the cards in their hands. They instead decided to come to a truce between them: They would both simply stand and remove their remaining clothes simultaneously before immediately leaving the building to go and hide (separately) in two of the many other houses on the lot.

Unfortunately for them, they had not reckoned on two specific things:

1. The guards had been explicitly instructed to lock all the ways into any of the other buildings for the duration of the filming; and, even worse,
2. Some of the more determined fans had already "joined the dots" and were waiting just outside the main gates ready to get even an uncensored glimpse of anyone who chose to wait outside.

Realising just how badly their plan had backfired, the boys fled to the other end of the set, desperate to keep as much of themselves hidden from the onlookers as possible, still blissfully unaware of what was still to come.

Author’s note:
This short chapter is mostly included to explicitly justify the story’s inclusion in the NYD2024 competition as I realise the events so far don’t quite reach that threshold, and the end of the "competition" period technically ends tomorrow.

The cliffhanger here almost certainly won’t be resolved for a little while as we’re plunging headfirst into one of the busiest periods of the year for me, but please do feel free to create additional "fan fiction" set within the world of Sweetville.

I do hope this story gets continued on when there is sufficient time.

This story is similar to one I am working on, where a kid ends up working in a movie that makes him show off more than he signed up for.
I know of one more story another author is developing, where the audience of a tv show will get to see more than what is commonly seen.
It seems there is a trend in our stories to push the boundary of what is acceptable viewing for the mainstream audience of tv and movie watchers
and willing to push the boundaries of what actors will be asked to do to keep the ratings going up up and away.

It will be, don’t worry. The slightly-rushed nature of that chapter was purely related to the competition itself (to justify its inclusion). The remainder shouldn’t be much longer now.

This story is similar to one I am working on, where a kid ends up working in a movie that makes him show off more than he signed up for.

Believe me, I know. This idea’s been in my head so long that I had to change the intended title to not match yours, which I’ve been enjoying very much! (I even had to take a break from it recently just to avoid borrowing too much of your hard work!)

Apologies. I’ve been so busy this past year I’ve barely had more than a few hours at a time for even reading stories on here, let alone writing anything!

(I was also thrown off my stride somewhat by a set of complaints earlier in this story that were full of words and terminology that’s been used so heavily as bigoted dogwhistles in my main fandom that I was actively avoiding returning to this story for that basis as well.)
