You nailed it, jimmythehand. It's a side story. Written to let the characters have a little adventure without disrupting or progressing the main story line consequentially. That's not to say the new characters couldn't make a main story appearance someday. There's always hope.

lol, not at the moment but I do have a couple ideas for more. Gotta progress the main story for a bit, first.
