I'm still new here and just read this and figured I'd share some of my views/experiences.

I have a similar memory: In primary school (Year/Grade 5 or 6, I think - I'd have been between 11 and 13) there was a picture/story book appeared in my school library that was about a boy who got locked outside naked. This thing was fully illustrated, and I distinctly remember a picture of the boy sneaking through his garden while holding a rake or hoe or something, with the shaft of that barely covering his own shaft.

Young me was fascinated by that book, but also I couldn't exactly go check it out too often because very young me didn't want to be the boy who was always looking t the book with the naked boy in it. I wish I could remember the title or the authour, because I doubt something like that is a one-off thing! XD

I remember vividly a scene from the first episode of the Secret World of Alex Mack where the title character's newfound superpowers malfunctioned and she accidentally materialized stark naked right in front of her sister and her male best friend, resulting in her literally begging for her clothes back... [etc]

I remember that episode!

In Britland there was a TV show called "Woof!" with a lad who had a habit of turning into a dog. Unintentionally, of course. Human clothes don't fit dogs, so the lad found himself naked in public several times across multiple seasons. (It was always harmless tho, I don't think he ever got caught)

Young me kept experiencing *feelings* around ENF/ENM situations too. Even when I was far too young to understand why. And even when I was old enough some of them were still rather baffling.

The scene in The Dark Crystal where Chamberlin gets stripped was one. I never understood why that clip made me feel wierd, and when I did figure it out, I was still confused over it because, 1, he's a guy and I couldn't square that in my head back then and 2, ... Well... He's a big ugly lizardbirdman.

Took me a long, long time for me to understand that it was the *situation* that was getting me going, and not so much the *subject*.

The other big one was the girl and the fireplace scene in Weird Science.

I've never been able to locate it again actually, even though it should be easy to locate in theory. It's weird. I remember that the title of the poem was "(Girl's name) took her clothes off" or something like that, but I have long since forgotten what the girl's name was. I wouldn't describe it as anything impressive by our standards, since the point of the poem was that the little girl was carefree even though her classmates were staring and freaking out.

If we want to talk really funny early ENF content, I remember preteen me being VERY fond of the Coppertone sunscreen logo with the girl's bottoms being pulled down by the dog.

This posts serves no legitimate purpose other than celebrating the fact that it's my 666th post on here. The significance of the Number of the Beast when directly associated with me personally is a two-decade-old inside joke that literally nobody on this site gets (and would take a dozen posts to adequately explain), but I posted this gif anyway. This post is basically masturbatory in nature with nobody to appreciate it and that fact alone amuses me for reasons which defy sanity.

I am very new as a writer and as poster on this website. Having read from similar boards several years back, I was inspired to try writing out a story that I have been noodling around with since around 2019. (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1950)

Even though I am truly a novice at this writing thing, I feel like my strength is in story structure and to a lesser extent in character development. I like the ENF story-lines for personal reason, but have had a hard time with the gratuitous humiliation plot-lines that I have seen in some of the better stories on this platform. Every time I attempt it, I feel like my writing is hacky and gross. Any advice for how to develop this skill?

I just want to begin by saying that decades ago I knew a woman whose highly-unfortunate real legal name was Edith Hiscock, and your alias reminds me of that.

So my first bit of advice is to not feel obligated to forcing high humiliation into a story if it doesn't fit into it, especially too early on. It's a common rookie mistake to jump from zero to 60 in 4 seconds flat in a story without building towards the moment or creating any form of reasoning behind any of it. Events should always make sense, even if its only "movie logic" levels of sense. You seem to be good with this though, since your Janet story has been fairly relaxed and casual for the most part once Janet got more used to being naked all the time. The early parts dealt with her humiliation well mixed with her nervousness about running late or being arrested. It reminds me some of Funkelly's T-Shirt for Sale.

Now when writing an actual humiliation scene, you want to focus on the tension, nervousness, and the fear of X happening more than you do the actual act itself. Putting too much focus on the actual bad event itself can make a scene feel "gross" as you put it, as it crosses over into abuse as opposed to embarrassment and eroticism. And it is better to work gradually with constant escalations of humiliation rather than jumping straight to the end right away. The best name I can come up with for this concept is "The Yosemite Sam".


The Yosemite Sam is when you constantly set lines that haven't been crossed yet, only for you to eventually cross them one after another. "Oh no I'm in my underwear, but at least I'm not naked." "Oh no I'm topless, but at least I have my panties" "Oh no, my panties are gone now, but at least my hands are blocking everything." "Oh no, my hands are held away, but at least it's only girls here seeing me" "Oh no, now they called over some boys who can see me, but at least they're all strangers" "Oh no, now there's boys I know from school, but at least none are close to me" "Oh no, now some of my neighbor boys can see me, but at least Mr Crush isn't here. I'd die if he of all people saw me." "Oh no, it's Mr Crush! He's looking at me along with the dozens of other boys. At least me standing upright is kinda hiding things from their sight." "Oh no, now my strippers are pulling my legs apart! Everyone is seeing the up-close porn view of my body now. The only way this could possibly get worse would be pictures." "Oh no, pictures! They're all taking full-body explicit pictures of me! Nothing could be worse than this, nothing" "Oh no, now they're going to make me cum in front of everyone, Mr Crush included, with my legs held apart while everyone films it!"

This is a style of writing for humiliation scenes that really keeps the plot moving while maintaining high tension. If you just skip straight to the end and have Yosemite fall off the cliff immediately, it's not as enjoyable. A character can actually get used to certain levels of exposure and shame over time, only for their line in the sand to suddenly be crossed again putting them back into a humiliated mindset.

I also advise to avoid depictions of actual pain or suffering involved with the humiliation and shame, since again that crosses over into abuse and kills the sensuality of the moment. The sexy part of ENF content is the adrenaline, usually born of fear, shame, or anger at the unfairness of a situation. Sadness doesn't spike adrenaline and isn't sexy.

Firstly, I would like to thank you sincerely for such a long and detailed response. Writers on this board are very supportive. Second, I am glad I didn't know about your friend when I created my alias. That is much better and I would have felt bad later by finding out it was a real person... My name came from too much Archer on FX and recently watching through the entire series of Downton Abbey... One of the main characters was named Edith, and every time they said her name I would think to myself "Edith A. Dick"

This is what I felt too... I would initially try to force the humiliation into a scene and then through a series of rewrites it would all be tamed down to whatever felt appropriate. I think it was abusive when I initially tried, and I don't think anybody would enjoy reading it... at least not anybody I would like to spend time with.

I like your analogy of Yosemite Sam. Give the character a line to cross and let them choose to do so until, over and over again, going a little further each time... I think that in the end, choice is the key to the scene. She can choose to stay hidden and hope someone friendly comes and brings her something to wear, or she can try to sneak through the school to see if she can make it back to her locker and get dressed before anyone sees her. Oh no, there is no clear path to the locker room, she needs to circle around to another entrance in the back of the school. Oh no, she's outside now and all of the ways back in are locked... She may not have chosen to be naked in school at first, but it was her choices that kept raising the stakes and putting her into more danger of exposure.

I think I will work on this bread crumb trail of little by little instead of just tossing my main character head first into the deep end from day one. Thanks again for the advice.

Finally, after much more time and work than I really wanted it to take, I have gathered links to EVERY story that I've ever posted and made a single archive thread for them all. Part of that also included posting up a few of my stories that were not posted anywhere at all anymore, including an ancient short story that I have never actually taken credit for posting before called The Unlocked Door. This was my second-ever story posted online and isn't that great, but I figured I should actually include it in my library after all these years. I've also reposted Dress Codes are Serious Business, which is a great story of mine that I don't think too many people ever got to see before the last board went down. It's much more sexually intimate than most of my stories because it was written for an old ex of mine following her requests.

It would not take a lot of effort for me to have the court battle as an epilogue, thus setting this story at an earlier timeline, but in the same universe as the first story.

I didn't initially intend that, so it is technically a ret-con. Does that come across as cheesy or clever?

I'd say it's fine. I always intended to have my stories moving forward exist in a world where Thirst Trap Studios from the Thirst Games was a growing enterprise. I had a few plans for that but never really got around to doing any of them. But having stories reference past story events is a fun way to build a comprehensive universe.
