Truth be told, I believe that the incident in the doctor's exam room triggered teenage sexual fantasies about our longtime next-door neighbor, whom I continued to do yard work for well into my medical training years. The shame I felt of her seeing me sitting there in just my underpants later transformed into something else.

Mrs. Slattery was in some ways a fair, friendly woman who paid me well for what I did for her around her house. Her husband was an insurance executive who traveled frequently on business. He often was not home for weeks at a time. At times, though, she could be a kind of bossy and domineering woman.

As a teenager, if she had told me to strip naked, I likely would have done it.

I'm thinking of the old classic movie, "The Graduate", except this alternate version has Mrs. Robinson hook up with the guy as a High Schooler,
rather than being a college student.
