Oh poor Matthew, that must have been so humiliating.

Coincidentally, that was the name of my best friend throughout primary school. He was a shy boy, and I can just imagine him in that situation. If he couldn't find his pants when getting dressed, or someone had moved them for a joke, I can imagine he'd just try to keep quiet about it and put his trousers on, rather than announce to the whole class that such a private item of clothing was missing. But then his friend announced to the teacher, and to everyone, that the pants belonged to Matthew. The shame of having to get them on with everyone looking. Remove shoes, unfasten trousers - pause, look round to see if anyone's watching. Of course, everyone's watching, including the teacher. Trousers down, and the most private area is on full view. No matter where you turn, someone can see. Quickly try to pull the pants on to get things hidden as soon as possible, but it's always awkward when you're trying to rush under pressure, and it ends up taking twice as long as normal. Hurriedly pull your trousers up, face flushed, heavy breathing, everyone has just watched you expose your most personal area. When everyone is changing together, it's still embarrassing but everyone is in the same situation and most are more concerned about their own exposure rather than anyone else's. But when you're the only one, the centre of attention for the whole class PLUS the teacher...!!
