It sounds like this could be the ending to Daniil's story and if it is then what a surprisingly happy ending it is.

From his horrible experiences at the orphanage to now finding a very happy home, a very happy christmas story. I wonder if he'll be spending most of his time at his new home naked?

I give great tidings of comfort and joy (to the reader, not for Daniil).

This story does not end here. Daniil still has to finish telling the tale of what happened at the sauna one year earlier. His current Christmas
Eve has a happy ending. The one from one year earlier...not so much.

In addition to the holiday story, there will be some further adventures for Daniil. I can't give any more clues than that.
