Board Discord Channel?

I've been toying with the idea of making a discord channel for the board so everyone can hang out there and chat about everything, plus be able to use it as a place to share any clips/sites that we typically may not be able to share on the board proper, maybe it's just me paranoid but I've always been worried about linking to adult sites or content on here since so many places don't appreciate that.

Long story short, would you guys like a discord channel for this board, and would you use it?

So something about me that probably nobody here knows is that I am half-deaf and my hearing sucks. It's a genetic issue that runs through my family, so my level of hearing is "normal" to me and I've been this way since birth. I don't use a hearing aid and communicate just fine, but things like accents and mumble-mouthed bastards make things difficult for me. This also makes it tremendously difficult for me to understand speech in most voice chat apps, since the sound quality of most of them ranges from "Utter ass" to "Holy fuck is that C'thulu singing Gangnam Style?"

Like I can talk on the phone just fine, no problem, but I still have PTSD from the Vent days of WoW and it was just physically impossible for me to use that for raiding. Even on the more-modern Discord half the people sound like the Peanuts adults talking with their mouths full.

Us having a Discord could be fun, and I'd probably give it a try at the very least, but I will likely find it difficult to understand most of you. This goes double for all of the Brits. I can't even watch Doctor Who without subtitles.

Just to clarify, the majority of my Discord usage is usually as a chatroom, and that's the context in which I suggested it, so I highly doubt many of us, if any at all, will hop onto the voice chat, I don't know about the others.

That would certainly make things easier. I haven't messed around with that program myself to be honest, I've only heard others using it. My ex wife and her friends would karaoke over Discord, and let's just say that ~5 minutes of listening to that would be enough to make Putin surrender.

I'm down but if it wants to remain up the rules and or moderation would have to be stringent, especially when pics and vids and links come into play, I think it would be very cool and an easier way to chat/express ideas/request/and post related material or links to related material that has the more visual experience to our storyboard.

I'm for it but again recommend good moderation and rules being made up and followed,

Also @executionus, you'd enjoy discord and although people do use it to communicate through voice, it would likely be pretty rare anyone would be interested in that, the other features are great, maybe look into it a little or just wait to see the cord that Viredae creates because each one is kinda unique in itself. It'd be cool.

yeah, I think I can get away with moderating this place on m own for the most part because it's fairly asynchronus (and even at that point, barely so), but I would need some mods to help me operate the place if it gets lively there.

It might need careful moderation. This site has just had its' discord taken down. And I'd hate any problems at discord to adversely effect the board here.

Hopefully nothing of that sort would come up. This is a literature discussion, not in the same category as enf-cmnf.com… even if there are some content overlaps.

All things considered, if someone were to post revenge porn, that site would be a place they might pick to post it on.
