Condolences to all touched by covid. It's a bastard. My story Debbi's Sunbathing Mishap has a real life inspiration behind it and she caught covid -19 in December and was very, very ill. She's now recovering but as you can imagine, it has not been conducive to writing erotica about her !

Yeah covid sucks. I haven't lost anyone yet, but half of my family is in the "will likely die" category if they get it due to age and health issues. Meanwhile, I live in the former Confederacy so roughly 60% of the people here are convinced covid is a hoax and will throw violent temper tantrums if anybody tells them to wear a mask. The thousands of insane conspiracies I have read posted by locals living in my hometown have completely eliminated my entire faith in humanity as a whole.

Tell them from someone who has actually had the virus. It's most certainly not a hoax. It's the worst I've ever felt in my life. I couldn't get out of bed for a whole week. My muscles ached I was coughing, sneezing, high temperature, felt like absolute crap. The worst part though was losing my taste and smell. It was probably the worst two weeks Ive ever had.

You under-estimate those in the anti-mask cult and their unshakable zealotry. A story from a survivor means nothing to their kind. There is one guy in particular in my hometown Facebook group who caught covid and was in the ICU for 2 weeks, ventilated, and came within an inch of dying. He now spams Facebook about how it's all an overblown hoax because he lived and that only "girly men" wear masks and that he refuses to wear one even after almost dying because it "makes libs cry". There is another frequent poster who is 100% convinced that her mother who died from covid was ACTUALLY killed by the lockdown and the nursing home forcing her to wear a mask, and that the hospital lied about her mother's covid diagnosis as part of their communist agenda. A bunch of nutcases are convinced that the vaccine has killed "10 times" more than the virus has already and that it mutates human DNA beyond repair. They have sworn to open fire on anyone who tries to force them to get the vaccine.

Just an fyi from an American who lives in deep redneck country to those who live elsewhere: Whatever insane stories you've seen or heard about these folks, the reality actually manages to be worse than that.

I Wouldn't worry having Trump as President pretty much sums it up lol. I think most Americans (i.e. the ones I talk to) are living on this planet. Though when you watch the news and America comes on, You're pretty much guaranteed a "what fucking stupid thing is about to come out of their mouth now" moment. It's always entertaining Like Donald's Tweets. "I got in the shower this morning and got wet. Who knew that a shower gets you wet." lol

Trump was only part of it, and it won't end just because he is gone. America's problem is that around 40 years ago the pro-fascism party legalized unregulated propaganda. Big money was spent creating this system of misinformation across multiple media sources. Since then the propaganda became mainstream and openly declares every other source of news to be fake. Now half of the country believes only the propaganda and refuses the truth at all costs. It created a system where discussion and debate are impossible because nobody agrees on even the most basic facts anymore.

Just on Covid alone they push the bs talking point that Covid only killed 10k Americans, that the rest of the deaths are fake and actually died of something else (like a car wreck). Debate on Covid policy becomes impossible because the fake facts paint Covid as less dangerous than even the flu, an illness Americans have ignored for centuries.
