Yes you could see both emotions on their faces. One time the boy Leo was 10 and the girl Fiona was 9 she had been feeling sick and had stayed home with our aunt all day. I had come back from the beach with Leo early. After we took a shower he had removed his swim shirt but put his trunks back on. When we entered the bedroom Fiona was lying there in her bed. After chatting a bit longer, there was a silence and I took the opportunity to order Leo to take off his swim suit and give me it and his towel so they could be washed.

When I said this, Fiona shifted her position in bed to lie on her side not to look away but to look right at Leo. I saw Leo look over to her very briefly without turning his head, hesitating, before looking at me I think hoping I’d say something else but I looked him in the eye and said nothing which meant the order stood. There was no protest, remember they were expected to obey me in loco parentis and the kids did both like and trust me, so Leo obeyed and took off his swim trunks. He gave them and his towel to me and was left naked as I quickly dried his lower half off.

It got pretty saucy when Leo turned toward the dresser, because it meant turning toward Fiona and I saw her face, rather her eyes fix directly between his legs. I will never forget watching him walk naked to the drawer and nothing about Fiona moved a muscle except her eyes. I have girl cousins who are a few years older than me. When we were little, we were fine with changing in front of each other. I mean, we used to giggle as we checked out each others' underwear and naughty bits, but being seen by each other didn't bother us. As time went on and the girls got towards puberty, I was banned from their room whenever they were changing and not allowed to see them any more, when they were anything less than fully clothed. They were still allowed to come into my room while I was changing. Which they did. Frequently.

This irritated me, but as far as my parents and aunt and uncle were concerned, the girls were getting older and needed their privacy, while I was still a little boy and didn't have anything my cousins hadn't seen before.

I'm glad my parents/grandparents were fair in those regards. Atleast this made it more difficult for my cousin.

It was a double standard, but more an age thing than a gender thing. We were treated the same when we were all really young. Once I reached puberty I was allowed the same amount of privacy as my cousins were. There was just those awkward few years in the middle when standards were different. I can understand why the adults thought it was fair (not that it was any consolation at the time).

My cousin was 2 years older, all she had were older sisters, so she was more than a little curious about boys, she even went to an all-girls school.
