Pantsing and Stripping Forums

This is getting old, there has to be some way to block all these scammers from posting

Watch out! he/she is posting under my name, but with a dot at the end. That is not me!!!

Well I guess I deleted over a thousand posts past week(s) so I keep going.
But I truly hope things will work soon, so we can enjoy our board as we used to do.

Maybe we must use that all. This isn’t stoppable anymore. Yesterday I deleted over 400 posts. And this already posted 109.

This voluntary job cost me more time a day then my daily job :shock:

Maybe we need to block new account creation for the time being. This is just getting ridiculous.

I really hoped we had seen the last of it but sadly not.

I really think that at least for now the forum needs to stop new members joining for a little while.

Yes it's extreme but the spam problem is getting worse and worse. Stopping new members being able to sign up at least gives us time to think of a proper idea to prevent it happening.

Yes, the forum is nearly unusable at this point
Stopping member creations till we find a solution is necessary imo

My suggestions are

Signature ban until approved (set number off valid posts)

First 5 posts need to be approved (painful but got to be less work than deleting threads)

ISP log for the spammers (got to be possible)

Well, one of the new anti-spam countermeasures seems to be working, so at the very least the spammer won't have an easy time getting around it.
