This is the worry. The latest assault seems almost personal and vindictive in its scale. Genuine additions / updates to stories and comments get swamped by the crap, with the danger that some get lost or unnoticed and users begin to stop bothering ...

Well, one of the new anti-spam countermeasures seems to be working, so at the very least the spammer won't have an easy time getting around it.

Could just make it so users with less than 10 or so posts can't send links as a message.

Or users with less than 5 thumbs up can't message.
