I froze, the dare hanging in the air like a suspended note of music, waiting to be caught. The room was suddenly hot, the air charged with something more than just the electricity of a challenge. I swallowed hard, trying to ignore the flutter in my stomach. “Are you serious?”

I'm probably going to abandon the "one day, one chapter" structure as this moves forward since I'll be needing time skips to keep the story moving. For now, I split up Day 10 into two chapters:

Actually we're getting close to the end of this story as I imagine it. I'm thinking of wrapping up Mina's tale to tell a different one soon. There's a few changes I wish I had made early on. But next tale will be a very different thing, might come back to this general frame work in a different way ...
